Permits

Are you a government agency?

No. Westbound Services is a private company that prepares and files permits with each state for you. Permits are issued by the state's department of transportation; we handle the work of getting them.

What exactly does the $35 cover?

Our work on one permit in one state: checking the rules for your load, preparing and submitting the application, and following up until it's issued. The state's own permit fee is separate and shown on its own line.

How fast will I get my permits?

We file Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central. Many routine single-trip permits are issued the same day, but each state sets its own processing time, and superloads take longer for route and bridge reviews.

Can you file on weekends?

Yes. Weekend filing is $50 per permit instead of the $35 weekday fee. It works best in states that issue permits automatically.

Payments and refunds

Can I get a refund?

Our service fee pays for the work of preparing and filing your permit, so it's non-refundable once we've started on it. State permit fees are paid to the state and follow each state's own refund rules. Changes and cancellations before we start work are free.

How do I pay?

By card through our secure payment provider, or by bank transfer for fleets on invoice. We never see or store your card number.

Dispatch

Do you dispatch under your own authority?

No. We dispatch each carrier individually under that carrier's own MC/DOT authority. We are not a freight broker and never take a cut of the broker's rate.

What does dispatch cost?

A percentage of each load's gross: 5% dry van and reefer, 7% flatbed and step deck, 8% box truck, hotshot and power only, 10% oversize and heavy haul. Charged only on loads we book.
